FARMERS, FORECASTS & FOOD Poster Contest The New Jersey Agricultural Society is pleased to announce a poster contest to celebrate Farm-City Week, November 21-27, 2008. ELIGIBILITY AND RULES 1. Entry is open to all Learning Through Gardening students in grades K, 1, 2 and 3. 2. Theme: Farmers, Forecasts & Food 3. Finished size of the poster – 12”x18”. 4. Any medium may be used. 5. On the back of each poster the following information must appear: 6. Deadline – entries for state competition must be postmarked by October 20, 2008. 7. All entries become the property of the New Jersey Agricultural Society. NO ENTRIES WILL BE RETURNED. 8. Criteria for judging -- creativity, originality, neatness and how well the poster expresses the contest theme. 9. Mail entries to: Poster Contest AWARDS All students participating in the contest will receive a participation gift. Each teacher is to submit three classroom entries to state competition. The New Jersey Agricultural Society will select one winner from each school at each grade level. Those winners will receive a $25 gift card. The grade level winners will then be entered into a statewide grade level competition. The state level winners will receive a $100 savings bond. The winners will be notified in early November, 2008. |
