FARM PARTNERS & DONORS

Every year, Farmers Against Hunger rescues over 1.3 million pounds of produce from across New Jersey, for redistribution to families in need. About one-third of this produce is donated by our network of over fifty small-scale farm partners. The other two-thirds comes from an assortment of grocery retailers, suppliers, transporters, and distributors, including Wakefern, Donio, and Sun Basket. As an added treat for our recipients, we also collect around 200,000 pounds each year of bread, dairy, and meat products from partners like Panera Bread, Wegmans, and Garelick Farms.

We are so grateful to our many food donors across the state, whether you commit to weekly donations or you dig out our number once a year. With your generosity and partnership, we can reduce food waste and feed our neighbors in their time of need.

'Pounds for Pennies' Donation Jars

Sitting on the checkout counter at over fifty farmers markets and garden centers across New Jersey, you will find an 'Pounds for Pennies' donation jar, informing customers that a $1 donation will enable FAH to deliver 10 pounds of fresh produce to neighbors in need. These jars allow us to both share our mission with the public and collect vital funds for our program. Today, FAH raises over $25,000 per year in donations from generous customers across the state. We deeply appreciate each of the businesses that volunteers to host a donation jar.

Please
contact us if your business would like a jar to join this initiative!

Host a Fundraiser / Outreach Event

Customers are always looking for new places to spend the day with their friends and families. Over the years, some of our supporters have conducted fundraisers to benefit Farmers Against Hunger. Others allowed FAH to come and set up a table for the day during a busy weekend event. Thank you to the event hosts and participants for their innovation and support! These are just a few:

Screamin Hill Brewery: Hosts an annual  .05K Walking Race with proceeds going to FAH.

Pineland Farms:
Hosted a pig roast at the Trenton Farmers Market and donated the entire proceeds to FAH

Giamarese Farms: Hosted a hotdog/hamburger sale benefitting FAH

Von Thun Farms: Hosted FAH at their Fall Fest weekend

Calgo Gardens: Hosted an antique car show & Octoberfest event

Hlubik Farms: Hosted a farm photography session and an annual dinner

Amidst the pandemic, Abma's Farm designed #FarmStrong t-shirts and totes, with proceeds going to FAH. They even matched the final donation!

T-Shirt & Cookbook Sales

Several New Jersey farm markets have begun selling our t-shirts and cookbooks at their stores. Schools, church groups, and other volunteers are also welcome to set up t-shirt or cookbook fundraisers to help support our mission. For information, please contact us!
