Farm-Based Education Workshop

Growing Education on the Farm: A Hands-on Workshop for Farmers and Farm-Based Educators
​Join farmers, farm-based educators and farm to school practitioners for a hands-on, farm-based learning experience this November at Fernbrook Farm! Facilitated by Shelburne Farms, the Farm-Based Education Network, the New Jersey Ag Society, and Fernbrook Farm, this day-long experience is designed for those passionate about connecting young people with agriculture and the environment.

Fernbrook Farms
142 Bordentown Georgetown Rd, Crosswicks, NJ 08515

​This workshop will give farmers the necessary information needed to prepare the farm for educational purposes.
Tentative agenda below:

8:00am  Check-in at The Inn at Fernbrook Farms for light breakfast and registration
8:15am Welcome, Introductions, Getting Started 
10:00am Farm Tour and Farm Activities
12:00pm Lunch - NJ Ag Society/Farm to School Presentation 
1:00pm Harvest and Food/Farm Activities 
2:30pm  Designing Farm- Based Learning Experiences Discussion
3:00pm Snack and Break
3:30pm Activities that allow your visitors to take the farm home with them! 
5:00pm  Closing - Thank you and Safe Travels Home
