Come build a Rain Barrel with the Farmers Against Hunger Team at Rainbow Meadow Learning Gardens!
Rain barrels collect free rainwater to water gardens, trees, and lawns. This saves you money on water bills, AND helps reduce demand for energy-intensive treated tap water, limits stormwater runoff and erosion, flooding and saves water for use during droughts. Installing a rain barrel is one of the easiest ways to reduce your water footprint and help recharge our rivers, lakes, and aquifers.
In addition to building a rain barrel, attendees will be given instructions for installation, care, and appropriate uses for their rain barrel. Participants will also get hands-on installation practice during the workshop.
$50 suggested donation includes all construction materials. The fee is per barrel, so groups can build one barrel for $50. PLEASE BRING CASH OR CHECK FOR $50. Write check to New Jersey Agricultural Society.
