Farmers Against Hunger
​Gleaning Coordinator

The New Jersey Agricultural Society is seeking a full-time Gleaning Coordinator to support and grow our Farmers Against Hunger program. Based primarily at our Rainbow Meadow Gardens in Delran, NJ, this role involves coordinating gleaning events, managing volunteers, building relationships with farmers, and expanding community outreach across the state.

Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and lead gleaning events statewide
• Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers
• Maintain records of produce collected and farm partnerships
• Support produce delivery and logistics as needed
• Create educational and promotional content to grow our volunteer base
• Represent NJAS and Farmers Against Hunger at events and outreach activities

Ideal Candidate:
• Organized, enthusiastic, and comfortable working both independently and in a team
• Strong communicator with experience in community building or volunteer coordination
• Social media savvy, with basic photography/videography skills
• Valid driver’s license required; box truck and forklift experience a plus
• Adjust to flexible, weather-dependent scheduling

Farmers Against Hunger
Part-Time or Flex Hours
Transportation Coordinator
​
RESPONSIBILITIES 
Drive produce from farms across the state of NJ to food pantries, food banks, and distribution sites.
Conduct pre-trip inspections on trucks to ensure they are fit to drive safe and legally.
Load and unload produce from trucks using a forklift.
Operate pallet jacks and lift gates to move produce off trucks.
General maintenance of the facility and grounds.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Must possess a valid driver’s license (CDL not required) with proven track record of operating a vehicle safely
Successfully fulfill the requirements for the DOT physical evaluation.
Experience driving 22 foot box trucks.
Have the ability to lift 50+ pounds.
