- All About a New Jersey ________ Farm: The Food Doesn’t Grow in the Supermarket video visits three New Jersey farms: a cranberry farm, a dairy, and a vegetable farm. This graphic organizer asks students to select one type of farm and consider what they already know and what they would like to learn about that type of farming. After the video, they reflect on what they learned.
During the video:
- Listen Up: Students are asked to listen for 14 words and place them into sentences from the video.
- Word Detective: Students are asked to listen for words in the video and match them to their definitions.

- Word Works: Students complete a word search for words learned from the video.
- Time to Remember: Students write facts they learned about Holstein cows from the video.
- Farm-o-rama: Students match facts from the video with the farmers who said them and color shapes with a code for each farmer.
- Mag-a-matics: Students solve mathematics problems using information from the video.
- The City Guy’s Farm Fun: Students play a board game based on facts from the video. They must determine whether a fact on the card they draw is true or false. If they are correct, they advance the number of steps noted on the card.
