At Rainbow Meadows Learning Gardens

Our community education project at the once Anderson Peach Farm is underway. Our volunteers came out along with Commissioner Daniel O'Connell of Burlington County on to help our Farmers Against Hunger team get our raised beds planted up and ready for the growing season.

On Monday afternoon we all gathered to enjoy some sunshine and conversations around gardening while planting transplants and seeds into our 15 raised beds at 173 Creek Rd. Delran, NJ. The seeds and plants that we plant today in these garden beds will provide a great space for outdoor classes, tastings, and discussions around local food and what's growing in the Garden State.

Next Up:  landscaping, pollinators, and fruit trees

It is always a joy to gather with our volunteers to do something for the better of the community.

Let's get together and grow!

What we planted:
  • Peppers - Carmen & Orange Bells along side of Basil
  • Tomatoes - Red Cherry & Midnight Snack along side of Basil
  • Kale - Red Russian
  • Arugula & Lettuce
  • A variety of flowers from Stella Farms
  • Herbs: Chives, Parsley, Basil, Cilantro, and Fennel
What was growing:
  • Garlic
  • Blueberries

There is always something to do in the garden...
